Vain as an owl, wry as crane, Wise as a goose, the eagle flies Miles overhead, and weakly smiles. Proud in its feathers, crying aloud Hollow inside, with no compass to follow Ruling in circles, hunting and fooling, Bird-brained and loud; a fool, in a word, Squandering freedom on noisy wandering, Winked, as its innards went slowly extinct.
